COACHES

For as long as the modern monetary system has been around, there’s been a constant choice between ‘cheap and cheerful’ and ‘spend a little more for peace of mind’. There’s no right or wrong, that’s a decision for you to make based on your own values and priorities.

For Action Coach Manchester it’s always been about getting the very best coaches to work alongside our members so we have peace of mind that they are getting the very best support possible. So we are very particular about the coaches that work with us.

We have four main coaches that look after our members:

  • James Burke – 5 times global award winner and star in Amazon “Prime Video” documentary “Business as unusual”.
  • James Vincent – Global award-winning coach and former Olympic coach
  • Julian Weekes – Financial coach, specialises in all things business finance.
  • Mark Hayward – Personal wealth coach, has personal assets under management of approx £80 million, and his company Westminster Wealth manages £1.6 billion.

There’s a huge amount of trust that we bestow in these coaches, to look after our members and ensure they get the very best experience is Action Coach’s biggest priority.

The coaches and the rest of the team account for over half of the total running costs of the business.

The Team

Running a great business is a team sport and our aim is to have a championship-winning team. We want the very best players in the industry.

Our team helps us grow the business and they also look after all of our members. Because they play such an important role, we pay above the market average for each of our roles.

So what does our team usually consist of:

  • Membership manager – Their main role is to support, onboard, and communicate with all of our members. They have one main KPI, make people happy.
  • A marketing manager and their team – Our marketing team are there to make sure we help as many people as possible. They are responsible for our social media platforms, website, PR, video content, and email campaigns.
  • Admin – Our admin team is responsible for making sure that all of our members get everything they need when they need it. They send out diary invites, weekly videos, and any communications regarding events that we have coming up. They also play a big part in organising members’ day and making sure all of our emails and enquiries are answered.

Our Events

Our member’s day events are among the most important days of the year. They play an important part in our memberships and we run one of these events every single month.

Some of the things that we invest in to make our events as great as they can be are:

  • The venue/room hire – We always hire a venue that’s modern, comfortable, and inspiring. The venue cost makes up around a third of the overall cost of each event.
  • Catering – At each event we provide tea, coffee, and lunch for our members.
  • Guest speakers – Our guest speakers can cost a pretty penny, some of our guest speakers cost thousands, and some cost even more. However, we’ve worked out that the knowledge that our guest speakers have shared has made the community over £100 million in revenue. Well worth it I’m sure you’d agree.
  • Lots of other little things – There are also lots of other little costs such as books to give away, champagne for the award winners, confetti, table decorations, paper, pens, booklets, lanyards, sweets, fruit, certificates, and much more.

Supporting Technology & Systems

The systems and software that our members use make it easier and faster to scale. We are continually looking for the best tools and innovations to help our members lead the way.

The tech and software include:

Action Plan – Our business planning software that ALL of our members use. We create our 90-day plans here, build financial forecasts, and use it to map out a detailed business plan.

Hubspot – We use Hubspot for workflows, to email all of our member’s updates, to create forms, polls, and even to take notes on each member file.

Action Cash – Our financial analysis report is available to elite members, 121s, and executives. It allows us to take a detailed look at the financials of any business. The tools available in this report were just too good to miss.

The 30X training portal – Available for all members from premium onwards. It contains 90 videos that are all 30 minutes long. It’s a no-brainer to make this level of education available to our members.

And more – We are continuously looking for new pieces of software and technology that our members will benefit from. We believe technology will shape the future of business.

Achieving The Vision

We believe every business in the UK should have a coach (and that doesn’t mean it has to be us, there are plenty of other great coaches out there too).

Michael Gerber states in his best-selling book “The E-myth” that 96% of businesses fail in the first 10 years.

Scary stuff but the real question to consider is, why?

So many companies fail because a great hairdresser doesn’t always run a great business.

The average hairdresser in the UK spends 3 years learning how to cut hair. Then they get really good, build up a client base and go for it on their own.

They take the big bold step of setting up a business.

And just like that, they’ve got a new profession. They just became a business owner.

They spent 3 years learning to cut hair, but how many years do they spend learning their new profession? How many years do they spend learning how to be a great business owner?

0

That’s why 96% fail. A distinct lack of business education.

And that’s why we believe every business in the UK should have a coach. A good chunk of our profits goes right back into the business so that we can expand and help as many business owners as possible get the education, tools, and accountability they need.

Frequently Asked Questions

We have a whole section of our website that's dedicated to FAQ's, but here's some that are just about our prices and costs...

How do I join a membership?

+

There are three main ways you can join our memberships.
1. You can join online, simply click our "join a membership" button on the toolbar and let us know which membership you'd like to join.
2. You can come along to our next Action Members day and choose a membership at the end of the event. You'll experience firsthand our "full-day monthly group coaching session" that you might have read about above and then decide whether you want to join or not. To book for our next Action Members day, go to "events" on the toolbar at the top of the page and register for the next event for free.
3. You can have a call with someone on our team to ask any questions that you might have about our memberships. To do that simply click the "join a membership" tab on our toolbar at the top of this page and book a call.

What if I can't afford it?

+

We truly believe that we've created a programme that every single business in the UK can afford. Our Growth Membership is priced at just £99+VAT per month so that even the smallest start-up companies can join.

If you wanted to join a membership that's further up the ladder but you can't afford it then it's worth jumping in at a starting point that you can afford. All of our programmes are designed to grow your business and make you more money. So a few months on the programme and you might just be able to move up the ladder.

We have plenty of clients that have moved up through the different memberships that we offer.

What could drive the costs up?

+

Oh yes, we hear you. You've joined a gym membership in the past and then they went and increased the prices when you're just a few months in. Well don't worry, we got you.

Here are a few examples of the types of things that can drive the costs of memberships up in the coaching industry:

1. Speaker Fees - Now I know what you'd be thinking, and you'd be right. This is mainly for our events. So this could be for products like BizX or any additional workshops that we might run. The speaker fees do change quite regularly. Most speakers have a price they want, but they are open to negotiation. Often there are other influencing factors such as travel costs, hotels for the speakers, or even the cost of bringing team members with them, and all of those things contribute to price changes. However, you can have some peace of mind in knowing that our core memberships wouldn't change the price because a speaker fee does. This would be more relevant for workshops.

2. If the software prices go through the roof - As you might have read above, we use a lot of software to give you guys the best experience possible. Now if those software prices went through the roof, that could drive costs up because we're on a subscription base with each of our providers. Although even if this does happen, it wouldn't drive the cost up massively because the biggest cost in a business coaching company is usually the people. Software makes up a much smaller percentage.

3. The people - If the people make up the majority of the cost, then surely they could drive up the cost. If that was what you were thinking, you'd be right. If wages go through the roof then it would be fair to say that it would drive the costs up.

4. Venue hire - Every month we invest in a lovely venue for our member's day, alignments, board meetings, and other events. Now if the venue all of a sudden started charging crazy prices, that could very well drive the costs up. I'd like to think in that instance we'd just find a new, more appropriately priced venue. But it could happen.

What could drive the costs down?

+

Have no fear, because pretty much everything that could drive the cost up, could also drive the cost down in the business coaching industry.

In most industries, it's rare that costs EVER go down. But hey, it's possible, so let's cover it.

Here are a few examples of the types of things that can drive the costs of our memberships down in our industry:

1. Volume - Now if our vision becomes a reality (to have every business in the UK on a coaching programme) then you'd like to think it would drive the costs down. The more members a coaching organisation has, the more they can use their size as leverage and negotiate better deals with suppliers.

2. If the software prices crash - As you might have read above, we use a lot of software to give you guys the best experience possible. And what can go up, can also go down. So if the prices going up would drive costs up, then the same is true if the prices of software come down.

3. Join a lower programme - Maybe the simplest way to drive the costs down is to join a programme that's cheaper. Now, like anything in life, you tend to get what you pay for. So if you decide to go for a programme that's a little cheaper, there's going to be some stuff that you miss out on. But if cashflow is critical and you really need to save a pretty penny, don't worry, you can always go back to the more expensive programme at a later date. It works both ways.

4. Everything else we said could go up - Basically, everything that could go up, could also go down. So venue hire, speaker fees and software could all drive costs down if they became cheaper.

Why are there other business coaching companies that are so much more expensive?

+

It's a little like buying a car. Some cars are cheap and some cars are expensive. There are lots of choices and with a clear understanding and some gentle guidance, you can have more certainty that you've made the right choice.

Things that can make coaching really expensive are usually pretty straightforward.

Often, if a coach has got a really high profile, they charge more. So think of it in terms of Tony Robbins or Brad Sugars. These guys both have programmes that you need to invest a million quid a year to join.
Linked to that, but also individual in its own right, the price can often come down to who the typical buyer might be. So for example, if Amazon or Apple wanted a coach, they might go for a coach with a really high profile and pay extra for it. But also, the coaches that generally specialise in coaching blue chip companies have some background in that world and are accustomed to living on the big salaries that come as part of the territory.

On a smaller scale, your "local" coaches may be a little bit more expensive if they invest a lot of time into each of their programmes. So for example, group coaching programmes are usually more affordable than 121 coaching programmes because they take less of the coach's time. In a group coaching format, the coach can help multiple people at once (although they would need to prep a group session more diligently).

If for example a coach offered 121 coaching and invested 5 hours per week to just one member, that greatly limits the number of members that they can work with and would ultimately make them more expensive.

Other than that, the things mentioned in a previous question about driving costs up and down (such as software, venue hire, the size of the team etc) can also impact how expensive a coach might be.

Why are there other business coaching companies that are so much cheaper?

+

Like in the last question, it's a lot like buying a car. Some are cheap and some are expensive. But understanding the difference can help you make an informed decision.

So here's why some other business coaching companies out there are cheaper.

As mentioned in the last question, some of this comes down to profile and experience. Our business coaches have all won global awards (a pretty big deal in the coaching world) and one of them has even starred in a full docu-series on Amazon's "Prime Video" (search for "business as unusual" on Prime if you want to give it a watch).
So our coaches come with a big reputation and lots of experience.

A rookie coach in their first year will generally be a good place to go if you're looking for a cheaper coach. The experience and reputation aren't there just yet but the principles that make coaching work (accountability, education, and a focus on results) should still be there with any good coach.

There are also a lot of coaches out there that aren't interested in growing their coaching practice as a business, and just spend their time coaching to help others or for some cash to invest elsewhere.

You might also find cheaper coaches if they only offer group coaching, as mentioned earlier, it's a great way to keep the costs down and still be surrounded by a great coach, and other business owners that are all focused on growth.

And finally, some coaches might have just found a cheaper way of providing the service. Maybe they leverage their coaching through software or systems so that they don't incur much of a cost. Maybe they host all their group coaching events on Zoom so they don't need to pay for a venue or catering.

There's also free coaching out there and usually, that comes from grant funding, banks such as NatWest, or not-for-profit organisations. Most free coaching has a limit on the number of sessions but can be a great boost to get you into coaching in the first place.

What are the payment terms?

+

Our payment terms are really clear and very straightforward. When a new member signs up, we consider them onboarded once they've completed a GoCardless link. GoCardless then sets up a standing order for the amount of the chosen programme. Once that's done, every month you'll recieve an invoice that we set up to run automatically. When the invoice lands, you don't need to do anything, our financial software will just debit the account by the amount shown on the invoice a few days after the invoice has landed. Basically, it's all automated, you don't have to do anything once you've set up the link.

You'll have your invoice that you can send off to your accountant (we're VAT registered so you can claim any VAT back if you're VAT registered too) and you're good to go.

Our payment terms state that you'll pay at the start of the month, for the month coming up. So basically you pay upfront for the month we are moving into. When you set up your GoCardless link, it will take payment for the next 30-days and then repeat from that point onwards.

If you want to cancel, all you have to do is pop us an email or give us a call and we can take care of everything for you on our side.

Alternatively, you can cancel a standing order yourself but it means popping down to the local bank which can be a bit of a pain.

Other things to consider regarding the payment terms include our notice period. The terms state that you give us a 1-month notice period and you can leave at any point during the programme (after you've given us the month's notice).

In regards to our payment terms, everything is set up for ease. You don't have to do anything other than send your invoice to your accountant or bookkeeper and we don't have to employ people to chase our outstanding invoices. Happy days.

Do you have a guarantee?

+

Yes, we do.

Here it is:
If we don't make you more gross profit than you've paid us then we'll double the difference.

Let's break that down a little bit for you.

If you invest £6000 over a 6-month period, and your gross profit only goes up by £5000 then you've made a loss of £1000. So once you've sent us your P&L and Balance sheet to show us the maths, we'd send you £2000 (double the £1000 difference).

So what are the terms and conditions?
No small print is needed for these, all you have to do is complete all of your goals and show up to each session.
Well, let's face it, we can't help you if you don't turn up or don't take action right?

You'll enter your weekly actions onto our Action Plan software at 90-day planning and tick them off as you move forward. They've got to be actioned and completed otherwise it voids the guarantee.

But that's it, it's pretty simple. If you turn up, take the action and don't make money... we'll pay you. Crazy right?

How much do other business coaches cost?

+

There's a huge variety out there, but let's try to shine some light on how much you can expect to invest in a business coach.

Let's start at the bottom, simply put, there are organisations that run a form of business coaching for free.
NatWest bank has regularly had programmes where they help small business owners on programmes with names like "accelerator programmes" and the like. By the way, some of them are great and well worth checking out. With some of them, you get a few sessions with a mentor and with some, you get lots of digital learning.

Lots of cities across the UK also have Growth Hubs that offer free business advice. They are usually set up similarly to the free stuff from NatWest bank, although you are likely to see more workshops (often ran digitally in today's world) than you are digital training portals. The free options are often a great shout for businesses that have either just started up, or maybe haven't even started out yet.

So let's get to the paid options. Again this can vary hugely. There are coaching programmes available for as little as £120 per month (usually group based or digital) and they too can be a great option for a business with a smaller cash flow.

The prices then start to increase as you look for more 121 support from a coach. Every coach has a different way of working, some coaches stick to a set time period (they might run a coaching programme for just a 12-week period) and some work on an ongoing basis. How often you see your coach will play a big part in how much you pay when it comes to a 121 format.
Other things that influence the price can be the length of each session (the average is 1-hour but there are coaches that will run a 20-minute session and some coaches will come into the business for a full day).
When it comes to 121 coaching you can expect to pay anything from £250 per hour all the way up to £80'000 per hour (which is what Tony Robbins is likely to charge you).

Then finally you have those coaching organisations that give you a hybrid experience. For example, Action Coach has over 21 different products (digital, 121 coaching, group coaching and even peer-to-peer masterminds) and for that level of service we have prices that range from £120 a month (heavily leveraged through our digital channels) all the way up to £9'995 per month (where we spend a lot of 121 time with our members).

Generally speaking, having a coach is a great thing. So the best way to start is by getting clear on the level of investment you are willing to pay and then looking at what programmes are available at that price. When you find "the one", just like being back in high school... you'll know.

Can I lose money on coaching?

+

Can you lose money on coaching?
Yes.

You shouldn't because we have a money-back guarantee. But some coaches don't have a guarantee like that, and even for those that do you can still lose money.

Let's keep it simple.

Yes, you can lose money if:
- You invest in the programmes and then do absolutely nothing with the knowledge and skills that you acquire.
That would be kind of dumb, but you could lose money if you did it.

- You invest in a programme that costs way too much for your cash flow. If you're turning over a small amount, you'd want a coaching package that's affordable. But if you jumped straight in at the deep end, you might find that your growth isn't quick enough and you can't keep up. That could cause you to lose money.

- The economy absolutely tanks and your whole industry goes under. However, as long as your industry doesn't go completely under and you don't have to stop trading, you'll find having a coach is unbelievably useful when times get a little tough.

So basically, don't do anything dumb, stick to the rules of the guarantee (if the coach has one) and you'll crush it.

Is it true that I have to pay up front?

+

Yes, we take payment as you start the programme. There's no delay, as soon as you sign the GoCardless link, you are in.

We coach all of our members to run a cashflow-positive business and of course, we run the same.

When we work with a company that makes lots of payments before they can make any money (think of a business selling clothing, they buy the stock, pay the staff and then potentially hold it until finally, it sells) we tend to look at the business and see if there are any changes that can be made to the model (e.g can we get credit terms with suppliers).

We're congruent with our teachings. We don't want to potentially ruin a relationship with a member because we need to chase payments. And just as importantly, we don't want to waste any of our team's resources (that could be spent serving you) by ringing up to chase invoices when we can make it smooth and pain-free for everyone through automation.

What could go wrong with business coaching?

+

Yep, we get it. There's always something that can go wrong. The clearer you are on what it is, the less likely that it will happen.

Let's take a look at what could go wrong.

Just as with any business, especially a service-based company, there are a bunch of things that can go belly up.

First things first:
- The coach can get it wrong. Whether that's talking through a strategy that doesn't work or making suggestions when the person being coached should be.

As a general rule, in a 121 setting, the coach shouldn't be speaking as much as the person being coached. And if they are, they could be getting it wrong. How do we make sure that we don't get it wrong? Lots of training (literally daily for our coaches) and great systems (built over 30 years by thousands of the best coaches in the world).

- You choose a coach that doesn't work for you.
If you don't like your coach, you are unlikely to listen, take on board, and implement the actions that you agree on. That basic chemistry provides a great platform to build a coaching relationship.
To minimise the risk, be sure to watch the coach online, check out their socials, and maybe even book a call with them so you can be sure that you're a good fit.

- You don't complete the goals.
This is an easy one, if you don't take action on all the learnings and don't implement the strategies that you put into your plan, it's almost impossible for coaching to work. That could just make taking Action the most important ingredient to benefitting from a coaching programme.

- When a member doesn't give it their all.
This is linked to not doing the goals, but other things to consider can be simple things like not turning up to the member's day events, or drifting away from the 90-day plan halfway through a quarter.
Lots of different things can cause a lack of focus, such as urgent tasks in the business or emergencies at home and ultimately it's your coach's role to read the situation and get you back on track.

Basically, it can go wrong on both ends. Whether it's the coach gets it wrong, or the person being coached get's it wrong.

Our systems are built so that there's a much smaller chance of our coaches getting it wrong, and equally, we make
a big effort with our members to make sure they are completing goals and turning up.

How long does it take to get results from business coaching?

+

You'll start feeling the difference a coaching programme can make straight away.

At first, you'll notice an increase in energy, motivation, and state as you have your first sessions with your coach. You'll usually get an uplift in belief too as you start to see clearly what you can do to achieve your goals and dreams.

You'll start to notice financial results pretty quickly as well. Not every business owner comes to us for financial gain (maybe they want their time back or want to work on their mindset). But even if it's not their priority, they'll undoubtedly see some growth in the numbers as we cover finances, marketing, and sales (as long as they take action on the learnings).

We often see a high % growth in year 1 of a coaching programme. Then as we move into years 2, 3 or 4 we often see a business growing on a multiple (X growth instead of % growth) meaning a business might be anywhere from 2 times to 10 times more profitable.

There are the unicorns, those business owners that completely commit, nail their goals and take risks, and those unicorns can get multiplier growth (2 times, 3 times etc) in under a year.

All in all, everyone grows at a different pace. Use the comments above as a rough guide, but don't let them limit you if you can go faster, and on the other side of the coin, don't let them intimidate you if you'd rather go a little slower.

What is it?

Every week you’ll get a video emailed to you on one of 3 key areas. It will either be on marketing, sales, or mindset.

Why those 3?

They are the most important 3 when it comes to increasing revenue and basically, we just want you to make more money.

These videos last between 5 minutes and 15 minutes and will teach you something new in one of those 3 areas. Then the video finishes up with an action for you to take.

The videos are in a linear order, so you’ll do 10-15 weeks on marketing, then move on to sales. We designed them that way so that you benefit from the immersion of one topic at a time. Instead of flying all over the place like a dog chasing a squirrel.

If you’re serious about growing your business, it’s a no-brainer, you just have to be great at marketing and sales. It’s that simple.

The weekly business growth videos will help you with just that. Your knowledge will go through the roof, and so will your action if you complete the goal at the end of the videos each week.

What is it?

Once every 90-days we sit down with all of our clients and create a 90-day plan. You may have heard the old saying “it’s not the plan that’s important, it’s the planning” and there’s certainly some truth to that.

Most business owners don’t have a plan, they don’t even have real goals. So what do they do? Just wake up and work.

Don’t make the mistake of thinking that small business owners don’t work hard, because they do. They work very hard.

The problem is, they are working with no real direction. They aren’t really going anywhere, a bit like a farmer that wakes up every day just to carry out his work and get through the day.

When you are crystal clear on your goals and you take action to move toward those goals. The game will change.

At the 90-day planning event, we’ll “start with the end in mind” by looking at what your biggest goals are, in business and in life.

Then we’ll work backward, all the way down to the next 90-days to figure out what you should be working on next to help you get there.

That’s where the fun starts, and the planning really kicks in. You’ll come up with and create the strategies and actions that you need to take to help you achieve that goal in the next 90-days.

You’ll get so much instant value whilst actually doing the planning. You’ll have so many new ideas and will feel inspired and encouraged as you start to create your future.

These 90-day planning events run once every quarter, usually the first month in the calendar quarter (January, April, July, October), and last for half a day (the morning session at our member’s day events). You’ll be side by side with a bunch of other business owners, that are all there to help and support you whilst our coaches guide you through your plan.

As you create the plan, you’ll enter the goal, and the actions you need to take into our business planning software (also included in all memberships, just see “Unlimited access to Action Plan) called Action Plan.

What is it?

This is potentially the most powerful part of our whole membership package. What is it? It’s you spending time with and rubbing shoulders with the other business owners that are signed up for one of our memberships.

There are a few different ways that we encourage the community to network, get to know each other, and basically, make a whole bunch of new friends that are looking to grow their businesses and become better people through personal development.

The first way we encourage the community is through our WhatsApp groups. We have 2 groups, one for Growth Members only (the reason Growth Members have their own group is because the volume is so big). And the second WhatsApp group is for all the members of the premium programmes, elite programmes, 1-2-1, and Exec.

The WhatsApp group is used daily, as a source of inspiration (we drop a video, quote, or something similar in there every day to inspire all of our wonderful business owners). And also there’s a lot of networking done in the groups, as well as useful bits like asking for critiques on marketing or just generally asking for help and advice. There’s a real family feel to the group, which is why we name the WhatsApp groups “Action Family”.

The other ways in which we encourage the community are:

  • Family Days Out

Once a month, every month, we invite all the business owners along to do something fun (no work permitted).

We simply get together and have a great time as a community. We’ve done lots of fun things over the last few years including zip lines in Wales, white water rafting, climbing mountains, helping the homeless, laser quest, crystal maze, and lots of other fun bits.*

  • Networking at our events

We regularly hold events for our members and even some that are available to the public. We always encourage our members to come along so that they get the learnings from the event itself, but also to network and get to know some of the other people in the group. For us, that’s the main benefit of coming along to any of our events.

Action Plan is our business planning and financial planning software. This is where we enter our 90-day goals, our 1-year goals, 5-year goals, and even anything further afield than that.

Action Plan has lots of different great features. The first is that it doubles up as a business planning software. So you can enter everything in here, and I mean everything. There are sections for entering your vision and mission statements, your culture and values statement, your organisation chart, your marketing plan, your test and measure data, your sales process, and much more.

The second benefit of Action Plan is the financial planning capability. It’s a really user-friendly tool, where you can enter your sales forecast, combined with your expenses forecast and the software does the rest. It creates a cash flow forecast for you and your business, and the coolest part, you can even hook up Xero or Quickbooks and see how accurate your forecasts were.

And finally, we have two other benefits that are available in Action Plan. One of them is the benchmark tool, you can search for your industry in the benchmark section and it will show you the average net profit, the average gross profit, the average marketing spend, and even the average rent expenditure in your industry. A very powerful tool to see whether you are over or under-spending.

And you can also add your weekly actions in the scheduling section of Action Plan, so you have a simple tick box to follow and can start working through your actionable checklist. The best way to use the checklist is to enter the actions that you need to take to complete your 90-day plan (we’ll prompt you to do it at the 90-day planning days).

What is it?

Do you ever catch yourself saying “they should be teaching this stuff at school” when you’re reading a personal development or mindset book?

Well, that’s why we created NextGen, the fortnightly webinar for your children. All ages are welcome, and any of your children aged between 8 and 13 will really benefit in particular.

We spend 30 minutes together, every 2 weeks after school and we work on mindset. We cover lots of different topics and always finish with a game to make it as fun as possible for the young ones.

The topics we’ve covered in the past include:

Morning routines,

The power of belief,

Setting goals,

Habits,

Wealth mastery,

Money matters,

and many many more.

And just like the big kids, the kids in the group really start to build friendships and relationships. We often see invites to birthday parties going out to the other kids and usually run an event in the summer so all the kids can meet up and have fun together (with the parents there too of course).

Imagine learning all the great stuff from Jim Rohn, Tony Robbins, and Stephen Covey at 8 years old. Well, that’s exactly what we do with the kids on NextGen.

What is it?

Our monthly session is designed to get you focused on the growth of your business.

We focus on different areas of the business chassis every session. Sometimes we cover marketing and sales, whilst others it may be finance or margin.

And everything else inbetween.

Who runs these webinars?

One of our globally recognised coaches will run the webinars and guide you through the experience.

Where do these events take place?

We hold each audit session on Zoom, just to make it a real no-brainer. It means no travel, no expense, no extra time or cost to turn up. Just simply log in to Zoom and away you go.

How many people are in the group?

All of our standard members and above have access to this, so there could be 5 people in the group, and there could be 50. Either way, you’ll get the same level of service, passion, and energy from our coaches.

How long does the session last?

We keep the sessions short and regular, they last 60 minutes and we run them every single month. It just keeps your dashboard front of mind instead of forgetting all about it for 90-days and then having to double down and take lots of action.

What is it?

Quick disclaimer here, personal wealth means your own wealth, rather than the business. The session itself isn’t personal or 1-2-1, however, it is LIVE in a group format with our incredible wealth coach.

What do we cover?

You’ll get tons of learnings on all things wealth, from how much you should save, to where you should put your money once you’ve saved it, how you can earn more, how to set a budget, what compound interest is, and how you can use it to your advantage and much more. They’ll be a different topic every session, so you’re continually learning and growing.

How do they run?

In each session, you’ll set some goals and actions to take. Then later in the session, we’ll simply check that you’re taking your actions and completing your goals. That really is a big part of the programme.

Most people don’t act on their wealth because they don’t have anyone to hold them accountable.

You’ll also get your education on the topics mentioned just above, in every session you’re going to learn something new and be one stop closer to becoming wealthy and prosperous.

Who runs these events?

We have specialist wealth coaches that work in that industry. So this session isn’t run by our business coaches, it’s run by a specialist in the area. These guys do the job all day, every day so they are much more qualified to teach you this than anyone else.

What is it?

30X is your training portal. When you combine the weekly videos, with the 90 videos in total from the 3 different versions of 30x, you’ve got over 120 different educational videos. Each one with its own action or goal to take. You’ve got enough education to last a lifetime.

Each video in 30X Business is 30 minutes long and is presented by Action Coach Founder Brad Sugars.

Brad will guide you through the learnings in each section (30 different videos on 30 different areas of business such as marketing, sales, time mastery, finance, systems, and running a great team) before setting you some goals to complete before the next video.

The 30X portal is only available for Premium members up. The name of the game for Premium memberships is education. You’re going to receive the best education from those that are at the top of their game.

And that’s exactly why we introduced 30X Business.

You can work through the videos at your own pace, and you can even pause one of the videos halfway through and come back to it later.

You don’t need to wait for us to send you the link as you do with the weekly business growth videos mentioned above.

You just log on, choose which video you want to watch, and start taking notes and learning.

One of the questions we hear all the time is, “what do I do when I’ve finished all the videos?”

When you’ve finished 30X business, you move on to 30X life or wealth. When you’ve finished all 3 sets of 30X you can complete the weekly videos and goals that come through every 7 days. And when you’ve completed all of those, which at a pace of 1 per week is around 2.5 years’ worth of stuff to be getting on with, you simply go back through them. Because no doubt you’ll have started to slip in one area as you started focusing on another.

Monthly Half-Day Group Coaching Session

What is it?

Our monthly half-day coaching session is a face-to-face event where you’ll get education from some of the best educators in the world. You’ll meet other business owners so that you can network and learn from each other and you’ll leave with a bunch of actions that you can take as soon as you get back to the office which will result in you making more money and getting some of your time back.

What do we cover at the events?

I know you’re probably thinking, “that’s great, but what exactly do you do at these events?” We start each of our events the same way, with a referral and some networking. We partner everybody up and let them get to know each other. Part of that conversation will be “what does a great referral look like for you?” and if the other person knows someone that fits the target (no pressure if they don’t) then they make the referral.

After that we get down to business, we go for some education from someone that’s at the very top of their game. This comes in all shapes and sizes, we’ve had guest speakers such as Damian Hughes from “The High-Performance Podcast”, and we’ve had Jonathan Jay (one of the best in the world when it comes to buying businesses with no money down) and even Marcus Sheridan (one of the best content writers for websites in the world).

After the educational slot, one of our coaches will run a session on the same topic as our expert, so you get a really immersive experience on whichever subject we decided to cover.

As you have a lightbulb moment (or a BFO – blinding flash of the obvious) you write it on a sticky note and pop it up on our designated BFO wall.

After that, you’ll write an action plan. What are you going to do with all those learnings, and then you’ll discuss your plan, and the learnings with some of the business owners on your table.

Then once you’ve built an action plan, and maybe even tweaked it after feedback from the other business owners, it’s time for our awards ceremony. Each month we give out awards in 4 areas:

  • Community builder award – The winner is the person that brought the most guests along to experience members’ day for themselves.
  • Accountability – The winner is someone that’s taken massive action, that’s holding themselves accountable and going for it.
  • Results – The winner is the person that’s grown the most or is having great results, financially or otherwise.
  • Education – The winner of the education award goes to whoever has been reading, listening, and learning more than anyone else in the group.

Then it’s time for lunch, the elite members stay on for the afternoon, whilst the premium members head back to the office, head home, or maybe even off to the pub.

Where do these events take place? Most of the events take place in Greater Manchester, every now and then we may have an event further North in Preston or maybe a little closer to Wigan or even St Helens. We’ll give you plenty of notice so you can make travel arrangements and all of our members come to every event, not just the events in their hometown.

We always look for venues that are relevant to what we are doing, so they typically take place in hotels or conference centres. We like our venues to have free parking where we can and we also look for venues where the traffic isn’t outrageous (so we tend to avoid the city centres).

How long does the session last?

For premium members, we run from 9.30 am strict start time (guests arrive from 9 am to network and mingle) through to lunchtime at 1 pm. We usually have a break about halfway through the morning session. The elite members stay on for the afternoon, after lunch until 4.30 pm. Then we head over to the bar to have a drink and network.

What do I need to bring?

The only thing you need to bring is a bunch of coloured pens (writing in coloured pens helps you retain the information), your journal or notepad (we supply paper but it’s so much better if you journal your learnings) and then finally your laptop if it’s the 90-day planning workshop (we complete the 90-day plans on our Action Plan software).

Do you feed us?

Absolutely, tea and coffee will be supplied by our venues throughout the day, and you’ll get lunch thrown in too.

What is it?

Our monthly full-day coaching session includes the afternoon session of our monthly face-to-face event (for more detail see “half-day group coaching session” above) where you’ll get education from some of the best educators in the world. In the afternoon session, there are a few additional sessions that are really centred towards accountability. Meaning you get a whole heap of education in the morning and a serious dose of accountability in the afternoon.

What do we cover at the events?

The full-day coaching session is exactly the same in the morning as the half-day group coaching session. In fact, you’re with the premium members, all in one room learning together. After lunch, we break off and the premium memers head off, whilst the elite members stay for the afternoon session.

In the afternoon we have 2 main segments. The first is the hot seat. Now there’s only 1 rule when it comes down to the hot seat, and that is “we don’t talk about the hot seat”. This means we can’t tell you any more here about what’s involved in the hot seat, but if you use your imagination (with a sprinkle of common sense) we reckon you can work it out. (We can add, that we make it a really safe environment and this is most of our member’s favourite part of the day).

Then we move into our mastermind groups, which are purely designed for accountability purposes. We put you into groups of 5 or 6, appoint a timekeeper, and split the 75-minute period evenly. Everyone then shares their 90-day plan with the group (even if it’s not the 90-day planning session), tells everybody what action they’ve taken on it so far and then asks for advice. By the end of their session, they’ll have plenty of actions to take and a whole mastermind group to hold them accountable.

For a reminder of what the morning looks like, we start each of our events the same way, first thing in the morning session we get going with a referral and some networking. We partner everybody up and let them get to know each other. Part of that conversation will be “what does a great referral look like for you?” and if the other person knows someone that fits the target (no pressure if they don’t) then they make the referral.

What’s Included In The Memberships?

121 Alignment – Annual Strategic Planning Day

Included for:

Any programme at an additional cost

What is it?

An alignment is where we create your annual plan. We take a look at where you are now, where you want to be and how you can get there.

We start off by looking at what you want personally, which countries you want to visit, where you want to live, and even which concerts or gigs you want to go to. Then we look at how much money you’ll need to make to live that life.

Then we move on to your business goals. To live that life, what level of turnover, profit, and cash position (bank balance) does the business need to have?

We also look at what role you want to have in the business during the business goal-setting phase, not everyone wants to take the “CEO or MD” role, nor does every business owner want to be the technician (the hairdresser cutting hair). But on the other hand, some do. There’s no right or wrong answer, but getting clarity on what you want to do in the business, and therefore who you need to employ, recruit, or promote is really important.

Then we look at the key strategies that are going to get you there. We don’t need dozens of strategies here, just 3, 4, or 5 big projects (per senior leader) per year. It’s better to get fewer projects nailed incredibly well, rather than lots of different strategies only half completed.

Then we wrap up with your personal development, to execute those strategies, and achieve those goals, what skills do you need to learn? That means personally and in business.

Then we tie it all together into one big action plan, make sure everything’s written down, and then wrap up the day with a celebratory bite to eat.

How often do we have an alignment?

An alignment happens once a year (or less if you’re moving really fast and want to re-align). Sometimes the business owners we work with have a paradigm shift and want to set a bigger goal, at that point, we often get requests to run a re-alignment so they can get clarity on what they need to do.

What do we cover on the alignment?

The topics covered include:

  • 2-4 year vision (finding your north star)
  • 12-month personal goals
  • 12-month business goals
  • What role do you want to have in the business?
  • Clarity on the strategies that will get you there
  • Personal Development – What skills do you need to develop to achieve your goals and how will you develop them?

Is there an extra cost?

Yes, there’s an extra cost for the alignment. The price for a full-day alignment is £1250+VAT. That cover’s all expenses, including the materials used on the day, the coach’s time and salary, the restaurant expense, and the venue.

How long does it last?

An alignment is an all-day event, so it’s best to block out a full day for it. Typically we start at 9.30 am and leave the restaurant around 5 pm. However, if you want to start earlier, or even a little later, then we can accommodate you accordingly.

Why is it important to have an alignment?

If you don’t know where you want to be in a year’s time, where are you likely to be? Where you are now, and that’s if you’re lucky.

Having a direction, knowing where you want to be, and having an idea of how to get there are critical components when it comes to running a business.

It helps you start taking the first steps because you know what it is that you need to do. But it also gives you the confidence to do so. You’ll leave the alignment with faith and belief that you can be, do and have more.

Where do we have the alignment?

Usually at a conference centre, hotel, or venue near you. It’s very rare we run them in the workplace. The reasons are pretty simple, you’ll end up getting distracted all day. So it’s better to be away from the business, away from the hustle and bustle so that you can be present and focused on what we consider, the most important day of the year.

What do I need to prepare?

We’ll send you a video with 2 tasks to complete before the day. The first is a bucket list, there are detailed instructions on the video so you’re not going at this all alone. However, it is critical (for time’s sake) that the bucket list is completed before the session. The second task depends on whether it’s your first alignment or not. If it is, we’ll set you an exercise that helps uncover your main drivers. If it’s not and you already know them (your drivers don’t tend to change throughout your whole life) then we’ll look at your personal balance sheet (how much you have now, so you can see where you are starting from when figuring out where you want to be).

Who should come along to the alignment?

The owner of the business is the first name on the list. Without the owner, the alignment just doesn’t make as much sense. If there are multiple directors and owners, then they should be there too. Finally, if any other shareholders or senior managers (C-suite or senior management level) want to come along, then they are more than welcome. The only consideration when deciding who comes along is who you want to discuss your personal goals in front of. If you prefer, you can run your personal goals in the morning session, and then have the senior team along for the business goal-setting sections a little later in the day.

Weekly Or Fortnightly 121 Coaching Sessions

Included for:

1-2-1 Members

Executive Members

What is it?

What is 121 coaching?

121 coaching does what it says on the tin, instead of group coaching sessions or coming along to events, you get regular time with one of our global award-winning coaches. You’ll work privately with our coaches as they help you strategies, plan, and stay focused during your 121 sessions.

What is the format of the session?

Every session runs in a similar format, although don’t be fooled, the format might be the same but each time you meet with your coach you’ll have a completely different experience. Why? Because business is constantly changing and moving and so are your problems, challenges, and opportunities.

The format looks like this:

We start with a WIFLE (which stands for what I feel like expressing), this is your opportunity to tell the coach what’s been going on in your business since your last session, what’s on your mind, and how things have been. During your WIFLE your coach will be taking notes, listening, and looking for anything that you say that really stands out or gives an insight into your current mindset.

Then your coach will run through your goals from the last session with you. This is the most extreme level of accountability there is, a globally recognised coach sitting in front of you asking whether you completed the tasks you said you would. And if you haven’t, they’ll read the situation and decide whether you need more support, or whether you need challenging and a gentle kick up the arse.

Then you’ll decide whether each goals needs further action to progress the project, or whether we can move on.

Once you’ve reviewed all your goals from the last session, you’ll decide what the focus for today’s session should be. Your coach can help with this if you are unsure, it could be that you want to focus on your 90-day plan, or it could be an emergency that has popped up, or anything else for that matter. You’ll then talk through the subject with your coach and they’ll ask you all kinds of questions, seek to understand what the problem is (and what’s causing it), and then help you decide on some actions to take.

Then you’ll set the goals for the next session with your coach before they ask for your commitment to complete them. And we always finish the session by asking you what’s been most valuable from today. Why? So that you spend just a few seconds reflecting on your learnings before you go back to the business to implement them.

How often are the 121 coaching sessions?

We have 2 different options. You can either have fortnightly coaching sessions, or you can have weekly coaching sessions.

How long are the sessions?

The sessions last up to an hour. If you’re fast-paced, decisive and you’ve got all the goals you can complete before your next session after just 45 minutes into a session, that’s ok. No need to drag it out, just use the extra time to start working on your goals. However, most of our sessions last exactly an hour and your coach will keep you both on track with the timing.

Where do the coaching sessions take place?

Most of our coaching sessions take place on Zoom (we’ll send you a link for Zoom and you keep that link, it’ll be the same every time), however, if you’re happy to travel to our coaches in Manchester, then you’re more than welcome.

Who are the coaches?

We have multiple coaches in our business, some of them are wealth coaches, some of them are finance coaches and some of them are business coaches. You’ll be paired up with one of our business coaches. Both of our business coaches have won global awards (Action Coach operates in 84 countries worldwide) so you can be sure you’re being coached by one of the very best in the world.

How many people can we have in one session?

Generally speaking, there’s no limit. However, the most effective number is 1 or 2. If you have 3 or more directors in the business, it might be better to run one “board meeting” style session with all the directors in, then alternate between the directors in a solo session. However, the recurring diary slot is yours to use how you wish.

Are the times the same for each session?

Yes, we’ll set you up with a recurring slot in the diary. That will be the time you have the session with your coach each time you meet.

What if I need to move, change the time, or cancel my session?

That’s totally fine, as long as you give us notice. The best thing to do is to swap a time at the end of your previous session. If you need to cancel, make sure it’s with at least 72 hours notice, otherwise, it can be really tricky trying to squeeze you in at another time in that same week (our coach’s diaries are usually pretty full)..

What’s Included In The Memberships?

Quarterly Strategic Board Meeting

Included for:

Any programme at an additional cost

What is it?

Our strategic board meetings are the ultimate accountability session. Inspired by one of the larger businesses that we coach that asked us to help them create and then sit in on their board meetings.

They get so much benefit from the board meetings we went want back to the office and created a programme where a handful of different business owners act as members of the board for each other.

What is the format of the session?

Each business owner presents to “the board” in turn. Each presentation follows a similar format. The first half is a presentation from the business owner on their own business. They’ll talk through their presentation which will cover the following:

  • How they got on with their actions and goals from the last board meeting
  • What happened in the business over the last 90-days
  • A review of the financials
  • What they want to accomplish in the next 90-days
  • Then they’ll finish off by asking the board for advice on their chosen topics

Immediately after the presentation, the board will ask any questions that they had about the presentation in general, then move on to give their advice on the chosen topics. As the session starts to wrap up, the business owner will write any actions that they’ll take for the next session and everybody else will write a small note that we call a “parting shot” to hand to the owner as one last piece of advice or word of support.

Is there an extra cost?

Yes, there’s an extra cost to the board meeting. The costs are all decided, funnily enough, by the board. We have a rule in the board meetings, and that rule is…

The board makes all the rules and decisions, as a board, in a spirit of harmony.

How often are the board meetings?

The board meetings run once every 90-days, it seems like just the right amount of time to take major action on the projects.

How long do the board meetings last?

They last all day, and the start time and exact finish time are decided by the board in advance (usually at the end of the last meeting). But to make sure that everyone get’s useful actions, the boards tend to run all day.

Where are the boards held?

This is again decided by the board, they are usually held in a meeting room or conference centre. We have also held them at one of the business owners’ premises, which can be cool.

How many people can we have in one session?

It’s decided by the board again, a maximum of 8 really for productivity and to make sure everyone gets a decent amount of time. And each business can bring 1 or 2 of the directors or shareholders.

What if I need to move or cancel my session?

Moving it isn’t really possible, because it means moving it for all the other business owners. The board made the decision that attendance is important, so getting to the board meetings is one of the key values of the board. If you cancel, you’ll miss the session and a day of productivity.
